"L-A-N-D" was written toward the end of 2010, as we were in the midst of finding a sound for our 2nd LP "Kick Rocks". Originally, it was going to open the album, as we liked the big intro and how it sort of feels like the score to a stereotypical 1970s Kung Fu film. As "Kick Rocks" began to take shape, however, during the summer of 2011, we figured it might be a bit too gritty and rough a round the edges next to other songs on the album. We frequently opened shows with it between the Fall of 2010 and Spring '11.

The New Division hails from our neck of the woods. I saw them live at a local Riverside venue in 2011, and was immediately impressed with their dark yet still approachable sensibilities. Ninja Party
